Tuolumne

When most climbers think of Tuolumne Meadows, they think of runout slab climbing or multi pitch crack routes up the domes. Little do they realize there is some stellar bouldering up there to be done. Lauren and I checked out two of the zones this summer: The Knobs and The Gunks. The Knobs has a great collection of moderate problems and a few harder ones, on knob-studded freestanding boulders. Classics include the Scoop v3, Double Dyno v3, and the Kauk Problem v5. The Gunks by contrast has harder, steeper, blockier problems on a small cliffband. Try your hand at Cellulite Eliminator v7, Mean Green v8, or the long Steelfingers Traverse v8. Both zones are great and come highly recommended.
